Jammu, Jan 30: A massive search operation was launched by security forces on Thursday in Doda district of Jammu division.
The search operation was launched following the information received about suspected movement of terrorists in the area.
A top official said that a joint operation was launched by the police and the CRPF in Dorthy, Basti and adjacent forests areas in Bhaderwah area of Doda district.
"The operation started at 8.30am as the information about the suspected movement of some terrorists was received from credible sources," the official said.
Earlier, security forces on Wednesday raided 25 locations in Rajouri district to investigate the network of Overground Workers (OGWs) of terrorists in the region.
Extensive search was conducted by Rajouri police at 25 locations across the district including Rajouri, Naushera, Thanamandi, Dharhal, Koteranka, Budhal, Manjakot, and Chingus.
“The searches were conducted as part of an investigation linked to a Case FIR No. 447/2024 registered at the police station Rajouri," an official said.
He said the case pertained to a terrorist network active in Rajouri which has been working to activate OGWs in Jammu and Kashmir to initiate, organise and execute terror-related activities.
“During the searches, incriminating material and important documents were recovered and seized," the official said.
As already reported, the Indian Army and other security forces have heightened their vigil following
the back to back attacks Jammu and Kashmir in 2024 ending.
