Jammu, Feb 01: Three hardcore Over Ground Workers (OGWs) have been booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) in Kathua district of Jammu division, Police said on Saturday.
As per the official handout issued here, several FORs were registered against the apprehended persons at PS Billawar and booked under Public Safety Act 1978( PSA).
The statement reads that JK Police teams of Police Station Billawar and Police Post Ramkot apprehended three Hardcore OGWs identified as Mohammad Rafiq son of Kalu Khan from Ghar Malti, Ravinder Kumar @Shanu son of Sudesh Kumar from Dadwara, Amrik Chand @Amrku son of Kalu Ram from Dharamkot Tehsil Billawar District Kathua.
"They are hardcore criminals/OGWs and were involved in various illegal activities from past few years and cases registered at PS Billawar," the statement reads.
It reads that in order to prevent the illegal activities within the district, "Dossiers" were prepared against the accused persons and sent to the District Magistrate Kathua for their detention under Public Safety Act- 1978 (PSA).
"District Magistrate Kathua issued a detention warrant against the accused person under the Public Safety Act 1978," the statement reads.
Accordingly, the warrants have been executed and they have been lodged in District Jail Jammu, Rajouri, Udhampur respectively to curtail their illegal activities.
"Locals of the Kathua district have appreciated this initiative of J&K Police Kathua," the statement reads.
