New Delhi, Feb 01: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday applauded the Indian Coast Guard on their 49th raising day, for safeguarding our vast coastline with bravery, dedication and relentless vigilance.
"From maritime security to disaster response, from anti-smuggling operations to environmental protection, the Indian Coast Guard is a formidable guardian of our seas, ensuring the safety of our waters and people," PM Modi wrote on his official X handle.
In his message, PM Modi extended congratulations to every member of the Indian Coast Guard on the joyous occasion of its 49th Raising Day.
"During the course of this journey, the Coast Guard's dedication, professionalism, and courage have been pivotal in safeguarding India's maritime interests. The motto of the Force, coupled with the mission and vision of staying ready, relevant and responsive perfectly embodies, its noble mission, inspiring confidence and trust among people," PM Modi said.
He said over the years, the contribution of the Indian Coast Guard in diverse operational areas deserve the highest praise - be it protecting our oceans and offshore wealth, assisting mariners in distress, enforcing maritime laws, or preserving marine environment and rich biodiversity.
"The Coast Guard has supported efforts to ensure sustainability in different realms. The relentless vigilance and sense of duty with which our ships patrol our maritime borders is crucial to ensuring peace and prosperity along our shores," the message reads.
He said that timely and responsive support to friendly nations by the Indian Coast Guard has also been appreciated by the international maritime community.
"As India takes rapid strides forward our collective dream of building Viksit Bharat by 2047, the Indian Coast Guard's advancements in adopting indigenous technology and increasing operational capacity are noteworthy. On the 49th Raising Day, I once again extend my best wishes to the brave men and women of the Indian Coast Guard," the message reads.
"May the personnel continue to work with renewed vigour and determination to propel the Indian Coast Guard and the nation to greater heights of glory," it reads.
President Droupadi Murmu her message said Since its inception, the 'Bharatiya Tatrakshak' has played a vital role in securing the Indian coasts and enforcing regulations in the maritime zones of India.
"Bharatiya Tatrakshak's operational excellence is evident in its response to maritime challenges, ranging from combating illicit activities at sea to providing disaster relief. I am confident that Bharatiya Tatrakshak will continue to serve the nation with utmost dedication and commitment," she said.
She extended her greetings and felicitations to all ranks of the Bharatiya Tatrakshak and their families and wish them continued success in their future endeavors.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh in his message said extended his congratulations to all the Coast Guard Officers, Personnel and their families on the occasion of the 49th Raising Day on February 1 of 2025. "Indian Coast Guard has played a significant role in safeguarding the expansive shores of our coastline, combating illicit activities such as piracy and smuggling, providing Search and Rescue Services and protecting the Maritime environment," Rajnath Singh in his message said.
"As it marches towards the Golden Jubilee of its Foundation, I believe that with its unwavering commitment, Indian Coast Guard will continue to discharge its assigned tasks efficiently in meeting the maritime challenges of our nation," he said .
He said the Indian Coast Guard will continue to discharge their duties in fulfilment of its moto "we protect".
"I convey my heartfelt thanks and best wishes to all personnel of the Coast Guard for their valuable contribution to the nation," the message reads.
