Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu range has emphasised the need for heightened
vigilance, enhanced surveillance, and proactive measures to counter any
potential security threats.
The IGP Jammu range Bhim
Sen Tuti while taking a review of the security at forward operating bases in
Kathua district called for seamless inter-agency coordination to ensure the
safety and security of border areas.
A top official said that during
his visit IGP reviewed the existing security arrangements, operational
readiness, and coordination mechanisms between the police, Army, and
paramilitary forces.
"He interacted with
officers and personnel deployed at these strategic locations, inquired about
their operational challenges, and acknowledged their dedication to safeguarding
the region,” the official said.
He said the IGP was accompanied
by Shiv Kumar Sharma, DIG JSK Range, Shobhit Saxena SSP Kathua, Vikrant Prasher
SSP Special Operations and Trainings, Kameshwar Puri SP PC Jammu, Aumer Iqbal SP
Operations Upper Kathua and senior officers from the Army and Paramilitary
forces.
As already reported, Union
Home Minister Amit Shah earlier chaired two security review meetings on J&K
and gave clear orders to the security agencies to ensure zero infiltration and
show zero tolerance to the terrorists.
Also, J&K LG chaired two separate security review meetings last week, one in Srinagar and the other in Jammu and directed the security forces and the police to ensure that the sympathisers of terrorism feel the heat during anti-terrorist operations so that they refrain from indulging in such anti-national activities.
He has ordered the security
forces to dismantle the ecosystem of terror including its over ground workers
(OGWs) and sympathisers so that terrorism is rooted out from J&K.
