Department to adopt tools and techniques
to confront challenges faced in implementation of NEP 2020: DSEK

Srinagar Feb 28: The additional chief secretary and the financial commissioner education department Shantmanu on Friday said that collective approach was must to transform the education sector for a future-ready Generation.
Speaking as the chief guest
during a day-long conference on "Transforming Education for a Future
-Ready Generation" at Government Women's College MA Road Srinagar, it was imperative
for all stakeholders to join hands in order to achieve positive results in this
regard.
"It is the
responsibility of all government institutions, NGOs, other stakeholders to work
together to carry forward a mission of transforming education. A lot many
things have been already done more needs to be done in future for all the
stakeholders need to join hands," he said.
During the conference, a
feedback was sought from stakeholders to address the challenges faced in
implementation of the NEP-2020
At the occasion, Shantmanu
asked the students to actively participate in curricular and extra-curricular
activities citing that creating a balance in academics and extracurricular
activities was must to makle life useful at every step.
Meanwhile, Director School
Education Kashmir (DSEK) Dr. G N Itoo briefed the conference about progress
being made in implementation of NEP-2020.
He said that that during
the upcoming session, all the steps will be taken to implement NEP 2020 for which
the teaching staff, school heads and the students will be informed about adoption
of various tools and techniques to deal with the challenges confronted during
the implementation process.
Renowned psychiatrist of
the valley Dr. Mushtaq Marghoo also spoke at the occasion.
Later, Shantmanu also
released the "Academic Planner" for the schools of Kashmir division.
During the proceedings, a panel
discussion on "Transforming Education" was also held in which
Principal of Institute of Advanced Studies in Education (IASE) Professor Seema
Naz delivered her insightful lecture which revolved around the NEP-2020.
All the Chief Education Officers (CEOs) of
Kashmir division, principals of higher secondary schools and officials of
several voluntary organisations were present at the occasion.
