Baramulla, March 1: The Parents Association of Saint Joseph’s School (SJS) Baramulla on Saturday expanded its newly formed Welfare Committee from nine to 20 members.
The decision, as per the handout issued here, was taken
during a meeting convened by concerned parents following the caretaker
management’s statement issued on Friday.
The handout reads that during the meeting, gathering witnessed robust participation from parents across Baramulla, Sopore, Rafiabad, Uri, Pattan, Wagoora, Chandusa, and other adjoining areas.
After extensive deliberations, it was unanimously resolved
that a broader committee structure was essential to ensure inclusivity and
equitable representation of parents from different regions, the handout reads.
The meeting issued a firm directive to the caretaker management, demanding the original compendium of by-laws be furnished by March 3, 2025.
The committee asserted that this step was crucial for enabling them to function effectively, maintain procedural integrity, and uphold institutional accountability.
“The parents remain resolute in their commitment to safeguarding the collective welfare of students and ensuring that all procedural mechanisms function with scrupulous integrity, democratic legitimacy, and institutional accountability,” read a statement issued by the SJS Parents Welfare Committee.
