Baramulla, Mar 03: In a significant development, world famous ski resort Gulmarg in Baramulla is likely to witness Khelo India Winter Games (KIWG) from March 9 to 12 of 2025.
An official said that the dates have been rescheduled in the wake of the fresh spell of snowfall witness in Kashmir for the last few days.
"The fresh snow which has accumulated on the slopes of Gulmarg and the weather forecast for upcoming days has made it possible to hold the KIWG in coming days," a top official said.
The official said the J&K Sports Council along with the civil administration were gearing up for the event which was earlier scheduled from February 22 to 25 of this year. However the event was postponed due to less accumulation of snow on ski slopes of Gulmarg forcing authorities to postpone the event.
"But we are now prepared to hold the event. All arrangements have been finalised," the official said.
As already reported, the KIWG is set to witness participation from top athletes across the country, with competitions in various snow sports.
