269 notices issued for deviations: Govt on illegal constructions in Pahalgam

Jammu, Mar 6: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday informed the Legislative Assembly that 269 notices have been issued for deviations in constructions in the areas falling under the jurisdiction of the Pahalgam Development Authority (PDA).

This was revealed in a written reply of the government to the question of MLA Pulwama about the total number of illegal and unauthorized constructions in Pahalgam.

Chief Minister Omar, Abdullah who is also the tourism minister, said that PDA has recently issued notices to 269 deviations as per the permissions issued by the BOCA of the Authority.

“However, the majority of these include PMAY and residential houses of locals that fall within the jurisdictions of the concerned Authority,” the minister said.

The written reply reads that Pahalgam Development Authority was the nodal office dealing with checking of deviations, illegal and unauthorized constructions, if any, raised within the jurisdiction of notified areas PDA and carries out demolition drives whenever required.
