Srinagar, March 6: The Private Schools Association of Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK) extended a warm welcome to Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, who assumed charge as Secretary J&K Board of School Education (JKBOSE).

PSAJK in a handout issued here said that, Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, a native of south Kashmir's Anantnag district was a seasoned officer of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS).

"With his vast experience in public administration and a strong commitment to educational excellence, he is well-positioned to lead JKBOSE effectively," the statement reads.

PSAJK State President G N Var on behalf of the association extended his congratulations to Ghulam Hassan Sheikh on his appointment as Secretary of JKBOSE.

"His rich administrative background and dedication to public service are commendable. We are confident that under his leadership, all stakeholders will be actively involved in pivotal decision-making processes," he said.

He further highlighted the pressing concerns in the education sector, stating in recent times, students and educational institutions have faced several challenges requiring immediate attention.

"These issues include denial of examination forms, non-issuance of roll number slips, out-of-syllabus question papers, textbook errors and other issues affecting both students and school administrations," the statement reads.

PSAJK along with its executive body, district presidents and general members was optimistic about fostering a collaborative relationship with the new Secretary to address key challenges in the education sector.

"The association remains hopeful that Secretary Ghulam Hassan Sheikh will take swift action to resolve these critical issues and ensure a transparent and seamless examination process for all students," the statement reads.

PSAJK has reaffirmed its commitment to constructive engagement with JKBOSE and looks forward to participating in meaningful dialogues under leadership of new Secretary JKBOSE to further enhance the education system in J&K.
