9 tourists injured in Qazigund accident

Qazigund, Mar 20: At least nine tourists were injured after the vehicle they were traveling in met with an accident on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway on Thursday.

An official said that the accident took place near Qazigund in South Kashmir's Kulgam district.

The official said a tempo traveler (number PB01B-7720) on its way  from Jammu to Srinagar hit a divider near the Power Grid Station Nipora leading to injuries to the passengers.

"The injured  were rushed to GMC Anantnag for treatment, " the official said.

He further said that all the injured  passengers were stable.

The official identified the injured passengers as Vikram Kumar (39) son of Deva Ram from Rajasthan, Avala Krishna Chaitanya (28) son of Avala Bala Nagendra Krishna Murthy from Andhra Pradesh, Aftab (46), son of Mohammad Vaseen Saray from Uttar Pradesh, Shanbo (38) son of Vakano from Mumbai, Khota (38) son of Maiy Ram from Rajasthan, Ramlal (40), son of Shamlal from Mumbai, Vabak Kumar (39), son of Vinod Kumar, from Mumbai, Anil Kumar (34) son of Ray Kumar from Kalwa, Mumbai and Rahul son of Rashpal from Rajasthan.
