World Water Day: DC Kupwara emphasizes cleaning of water bodies to sustain water resources

Kupwara, March 22: In connection with the celebration of World Water Day, the District Administration Kupwara today organized Jal Shapath (Water Pledge) ceremonies across the district to raise awareness about the importance of water conservation. 

The main function was held at D.C Office Kupwara which was led by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan who administered the Water Pledge to the participants consisting of large number of officers and employees. 

On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner spoke and highlighted the importance of water conservation and sustainable use of water resources in the district. She emphasized for cleaning of water bodies and keeping surroundings neat and clean to sustain the water resources for future generations. 

Meanwhile, water pledge ceremonies were held in all schools, colleges and government offices of district Kupwara during which pledges were administered to ensure judicious use of water. The participants were impressed upon to motivate family, friends and neighbours to use water wisely and not waste it.
