Budgam Police hold awareness programme on New Criminal Laws

Budgam, March 27: Budgam Police organised an awareness programme at Townhall Khansahib.

The awareness program was organised under the supervision of SSP Budgam Nikhil Borkar with an aim to educate the public on the newly enacted criminal laws.

As per the handout issued here, the event was chaired by SHO Khansahib, Inspector Zahoor Ahmad Khan, along with Aijaz Ahmad, and was attended by local citizens, community representatives, and other stakeholders.

Police officers from Police Station Khansahib also participated in the programme.

"The initiative aimed to inform the public about the replacement of the IPC, Cr.PC, and Evidence Act with new criminal laws," the handout reads.

Officers highlighted key aspects of the reforms, emphasizing their victim-centric approach, which ensures speedy justice and swift punishment for offenders.

"The programme also covered important provisions such as the registration of Zero FIRs and e-FIRs, along with the incorporation of modern investigative techniques and technology to enhance the justice system," the handout reads.

Budgam Police in its handout assured its committment to raise  awareness and ensure that citizens are well-informed about these legal reforms.
