Baramulla Police arrest 2 gamblers; stake money seized

Baramulla, March 28: In a continued effort to curb illegal activities, Baramulla Police arrested two gamblers in Delina area of Baramulla outskirts.

The Police handout reads that a Police Party of Police Post Delina headed by DO Delina along with QRT raided at Delina Ghat which led to the arrest of two gamblers.

As per the handout, the raid was conducted after receiving credible information about gambling activities in the area.

Police have identified the arrested persons as Khazir Mohammad Ganie son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Jahama Baramulla and Mushtaq Ahmed Wani son of Bashir Ahmed resident of Rangwar Baramulla.

"During the operation, stake money amounting to  Rs 10300 and playing cards were seized from their possession," it reads.

A case FIR No. 52/2025 Under Section 13 Gambling Act has been registered at Police Station Baramulla and "investigation is set into motion."

"Baramulla Police remains committed to maintaining law and order and urges the public to report any illegal activities to help keep the district crime free," the Police handout reads.
