Awantipora, April 3: The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) celebrated the week-long Almond Festival, bringing together university officials, faculty, and staff in a spirit of camaraderie and appreciation for nature.
The event was organized by Dean of Students and was attended by Vice Chancellor Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo, Dean Academic Affairs Prof. A H Moon, Registrar Prof. Abdul Wahid Makhdoomi, Finance Officer Sameer Wazir, Dean of Students Dr. Asifa Baba along with Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments, faculty members, and administrative staff.
The gathering provided an opportunity for the university community to engage in meaningful conversations in an informal and refreshing setting, promoting a sense of unity and shared purpose.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo emphasized the importance of such events in nurturing an appreciation for the natural environment and invigorating collective vision and enthusiasm.
He remarked that these gatherings allow us to reconnect with our surroundings, rejuvenate our energies, and strengthen our commitment towards academic and institutional growth.

The
festival will continue for a week and it aims to encourage a shared sense of
appreciation for nature and a renewed commitment to fostering an enriching
academic and cultural environment at IUST.
