KS News Desk

Srinagar, April 04: Former minister and President of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen, on Friday expressed serious concern over the prevailing confusion between the administration and the government in Jammu and Kashmir.

He said this ambiguity has left the people disillusioned and uncertain about who holds real authority in the Union Territory.

“It is unfortunate that a region once known for its identity and glory is now facing a crisis of leadership. Since 1952, the leadership in Jammu and Kashmir has prioritized securing their positions over addressing the genuine concerns of the people,” Hakeem Yaseen in a statement issue here, said.

He criticized the recent political moves and said merely passing resolutions is not a meaningful form of opposition.

“Resolutions do not bring revolutions. They are only attention-seeking tools and rarely lead to real action on the ground,” he said.

he appealed to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah that Jammu and Kashmir remains a sensitive region where people continue to suffer due to policy uncertainty and a lack of political will.

“When confusion dominates governance, how can we expect peace, employment, or the eradication of poverty,” he asked.

Hakeem Yaseen urged the central government to reconsider its approach towards Jammu and Kashmir.

“The people should not continue to suffer. The Centre must show statesmanship and restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

He further criticized the present government, accusing it of misleading the public with unrealistic promises during elections.

“They were fully aware of their limitations within a Union Territory but still deceived the people. It is unfortunate that they are now expressing regret over the very issues they once used as election slogans,” Hakeem Yaseen said.

The PDF chief reiterated his call for accountability and genuine governance, stating that only through sincerity and clarity in leadership can Jammu and Kashmir move towards peace and development.
