GMC Baramulla faculty attends 15th Haircon held at SKICC

Srinagar, April 08: The Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla marked its presence at 15th Haircon conducted by Association of Hair Restoration Surgeons of India along with the International Society Of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS).

The conference was attended by more than 350 delegates held at SKICC Srinagar from April 4 to April 6 of 2025.

The international faculties who attended the conference include Dr. Knudsen Rusell from Australia (Post President of IHRS), Dr. Otavio from Brazil, Dr. Chinmanat and Dr. Kulkaran from Thailand, Dr. Zontos from Denmark and Dr. Maxim Chumak from the USA.

As per the handout issued here, the conference was organized by AHRS with Dr. AmanDua as organizing  Chairperson and  Prof. (Dr.) Syed Mubashir who is the organising secretary from GMC Baramulla.

The patrons of the conference were Prof. Dr. Iffat Hassan Shah and Prof. Sheikh Manzoor.

The scientific conference was inaugurated by chief Guest Prof. Dr.  Iffat Shah Principal Dean GMC Srinagar, Prof. Dr.Majid Jehangir Principal GMC Baramulla and Prof. Dr. RukshanaNajeeb Principal GMC Anantnag.

The Scientific coordinator was Dr. Ummer Yaseen, Assistant Professor GMC Anantnag.

The organising coordinator was Dr. Peerzada Sajad, Assistant Professor GMC Baramulla.

The academic event was well planned with scientific sessions in which Departments of Dermatology from GMC Baramulla, GMC Anantnag, GMC Srinagar and SKIMS Medical College and from various Medical Colleges did poster and paper presentations.

All India Postgraduate Quiz was conducted across the country in which four teams qualified out of the country for final viz, GMC Patiala, MIMSR, Lathur Maharashtra, SSKM Kolkata, GMC Calicut.

The GMC Calicut team won the Quiz competition.

The conference was attended by Dermatologists and Plastic Surgeons, the conference had a session on Anti Quackery in which the president Dr. Mayank Singh AHRS, Vice president Dr. Akshay Jain Indian Association of Dermatologist, Vice President of Association of Plastic Surgeons of India Dr. AdiytaAgarwal and President Association of cutaneous Surgeons of India Dr. Swapnil Shah participated.

The conference was inaugurated with a welcome address given by Dr. AmanDua Organising Chairperson Haircon and two Oratations were delivered by Dr. Knudsen and Dr. Anil Garg and was concluded by  the vote of thanks given by Prof. Dr. Syed Mubashir Professor Department of Dermatology GMC Baramulla.
