St. Joseph’s Hr secondary school holds farewell ceremony for retiring teachers

Baramulla, April 13: St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary School Baramulla on Saturday organised a farewell ceremony to honor the retirement of eight esteemed teachers.

The event was marked by emotional tributes, vibrant performances, and deep appreciation for decades of dedicated service.

The ceremony was attended by the entire school community, including students, teaching and non-teaching staff.

Students presented a series of colorful cultural performances to express their gratitude and admiration for the retiring educators.

Principal Father Britto, in his address, extended his best wishes to the retiring teachers and commended their invaluable contributions.

“A teacher holds a noble place in society, playing a pivotal role in shaping young minds. These retiring educators have been pillars of our institution, serving with commitment and excellence,” he said.

The teachers who were honored include Ghulam Nabi Dar, Saleem Joseph, Manzoor Ahmad, Nisar Ahmad Dar, Satbir Kaur, Sister Josephine, Mushtaq Ahmad Mir, Dr. Parviz Yusuf, and Majid Ahmad.

Ghulam Nabi Dar, in particular, was celebrated for completing 40 years of dedicated service at the institution.

In his farewell speech, Dar reflected on his long journey with satisfaction and humility.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve this institution. I always walked into the classroom with preparation and passion. That discipline made all the difference,” he said.

His inspiring words resonated deeply with fellow educators and students alike.

Other retiring teachers also shared their thoughts and memories.

Nisar Ahmad Dar offered valuable advice to students while Saleem Joseph, Satbir Kaur, Sister Josephine, Dr. Parviz Yusuf, and Majid Ahmad expressed their gratitude and best wishes for the school community.

Special recognition was also given to Mushtaq Ahmad Mir for completing 25 years of service, marking his Silver Jubilee.

Vice Principal Father Sousei oversaw the event, and the school administration honored all retiring staff members with awards and tokens of appreciation.

Fellow teachers joined in expressing their respect and admiration through speeches and personal gestures.

The farewell concluded with a visit to Ghulam Nabi Dar’s residence, where his family warmly hosted the gathering.

A close friend and fellow educator, Mujtaba, delivered a touching tribute, bringing the day’s events to an emotional close.
