Kupwara, April 20: District Police Kupwara on Saturday organised a farewell function at the GOs Mess, District Police Lines Kupwara to bid adieu to Ghulam Mohammad Bhat on his transfer from the post of Additional Superintendent of Police, Kupwara.
The event was marked with grace and gratitude, celebrating the outstanding contributions of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat during his tenure.
The function was attended by a galaxy of officers including SSP Kupwara Ghulam Jeelani, DySP Headquarters Mohammad Rafee Rather, DySP DAR Gulzar Ahmad Bhatt, DySP Lolab Javaid Lone, DySP Probationers, SHOs, DOs, and In-charges of SOG Camps, among other dignitaries from the district police setup.
The event was hosted by Goldy Sharma, who kept the proceedings engaging and respectful.
A number of officers shared their experiences and admiration for the outgoing ASP, acknowledging his professionalism, leadership, and integrity.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Kupwara Ghulam Jeelani commended the role of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat in strengthening the fight against drug trafficking and other important crime related measures in the district.
He highlighted that Bhat remained at the forefront of numerous successful anti-drug operations and all issues faced by police besides implementing critical administrative reforms that enhanced the operational efficiency and public perception of Kupwara Police.
His initiatives greatly contributed to improving public trust and upholding the core values of Jammu & Kashmir Police.
The officers praised Bhat’s decisiveness, discipline, and his commitment to duty along with his empathetic approach towards team management and community policing.
In his farewell address, Ghulam Mohammad Bhat expressed heartfelt thanks to District Police Kupwara especially SSP Kupwara and fellow officers for their constant support, camaraderie, and cooperation.
He said it was a privilege to serve in Kupwara and extended his best wishes to the district police for continued success and service to the public.
The event concluded with the presentation of a memento and ceremonial send-off to the officer, followed by group photographs and informal interactions.
"District Police Kupwara acknowledges and appreciates the exemplary service of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat and wishes him great success and good health in his future postings," the official handout reads.
