Srinagar, April 20: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Regional Centre Srinagar on Sunday held an induction meeting for newly enrolled students for the January-2025 session.
In a separate event, a book
titled Achievements for the Year 2024-25
was also released in the auditorium of
SKIMS Soura.
The book release ceremony
of "Achievements for the Year 2024-25" was attended by Director SKIMS
Prof Dr. Mohammad Ashraf Ganie, Registrar Kashmir University Prof Naser Iqbal, Head
department of hospitals Administration SKIMS Prof G H Yatoo, In-charge CRC
Bemina Dr Zafar, Regional Director MANUU Dr Aijaz Ashraf besides principals of various
government Degree Colleges.
The other dignitaries present
were coordinators from various study centres, academic counselor and staff from
Regional Centre Srinagar and above all students.

Rizvi in his welcome address highlighted the achievements that have been
showcased in the book "Achievements for the Year 2024-25."
Dr. Rizvi said that the
book highlights the centre's contributions to academic excellence, including Conducting
academic counseling sessions for students, Monitoring practicals to ensure
hands-on learning experiences, Successfully conducting examinations and maintaining
academic integrity.
Other notable achievements
were providing support services to students, including academic guidance and
mentorship, Fostering a sense of community among students and faculty
Contributing to the overall growth and development of the region through
education.
The book serves as a
testament of the excellent leadership of our Vice Chancellor Prof Uma Kinjilal,
Director (RSD) Dr Manorma Singh, various schools, units and centres at
headquarters, and to the hard work and dedication of the principals,
coordinators and Part time staff of study centres across Kashmir Valley and Regional
Centre.
Dr Rizvi praised the
contribution of Dr Abdullah Assistant Regional Director and Assistant Registrar
Bhanwar Singh for their outstanding services to IGNOU.
The guests praised the Regional
Director's efforts in promoting academic excellence and expressed their
appreciation for the book, which serves as a testament to the centre's hard
work and dedication.
The coordinators also praised
the regional director IGNOU for his outstanding services to valley learners in
year 2024 and for streamlining academic, administrative and financial
activities at study centres.
In another event induction
program was also organised for the new students who got themselves enrolled for
the January 2025 admission session.
The aim of the induction
meeting was to familiarize new students with the university's academic
programs, policies, and support services.
During the induction
meeting Assistant Regional Director Dr Abdullah provided valuable
insights into academic expectations, student support services, and
opportunities available at IGNOU.
The event provided a platform for students to engage with new ideas and perspectives in various fields of study.
Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many appreciating the university's efforts to create a supportive learning environment.
