Gulmarg, April 27: Security arrangements have been significantly heightened in Gulmarg following the tragic attack in Pahalgam, where 26 tourists and locals lost their lives.
In response to the incident, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla, Gurinderpal Singh (IPS), conducted an extensive tour of Gulmarg to assess the security preparedness and boost the morale of deployed forces.
During his visit, SSP Singh interacted with officers on the ground, reviewed security setups at key tourist spots, hotels, and entry points, and emphasized the need for strict vigilance.
He reiterated the importance of proactive measures, intelligence gathering, and close coordination among security agencies to ensure the safety of tourists and residents.
Addressing the media persons SSP Baramulla said while Gulmarg remains safe for visitors, they are taking no chances.
"Security forces are on high alert to prevent any untoward incidents. Tourists are welcome, but we request them to cooperate with security checks and advisories," he said.
SSP Baramulla said that he personally reviewed security arrangements, fire tender readiness, and power supply management in Gulmarg to ensure that all essential services are fully prepared to handle any emergencies.
The local administration has urged tourists to remain calm, follow official advisories, and report any suspicious activity immediately. Authorities reassured that comprehensive measures are in place to ensure the safety and smooth experience of all visitors in Gulmarg.
