Indian Army holds medical camp for border villages

Baramulla, May 26: The Indian Army on Monday conducted a medical camp for the affected innocent villagers of Uri, Baramulla.

The event was held by the Army as part of its sustained efforts to provide humanitarian assistance and enhance healthcare access in remote areas.

*These residents were subjected to incessant shelling and were inhumanely targeted by the Pakistan Army in the recent Ceasefire violations," the official handout reads.

A team of dedicated medical professionals, including a lady medical officer, medical officer and a psychologist, were present at the camp to address the healthcare needs of the local residents.

"More than 500 civilians including ladies, children and elderly people were benefitted with the camp," it reads.

The medical assistance was provided to several villages including Nambla A,B & C, Sahora, Hathlanga, Silikot, Gharkote, Balkote, Macchikarand, Bandi, Lagama, Rajarwani and Paran Pilan were benefitted from the medical services provided by the Indian Army.

"The initiative offered free medical consultations, basic treatment, and psychological counseling to individuals in this underserved region," the handout reads.

As per the handout, the medical team tackled a broad range of health concerns, organized awareness sessions on hygiene and health including mental health, and distributed essential medicines.

"Special attention was given to women’s health and mental well-being, ensuring a holistic and inclusive approach," it reads.

The handout reads that the local community responded with immense appreciation, expressing their gratitude to the Indian Army for its continuous support and welfare-driven initiatives.

"This medical camp reflects the Army’s unwavering commitment to building trust, goodwill, and lasting bonds with the people of Jammu & Kashmir," it reads.
