Sopore gunfight: 2 terrorists believed to be trapped

Sopore, Jan 19: Around two terrorists are believed to be trapped in a gunfight with security forces in Gujjarpeti Zaloora area of Sopore in north Kashmir's Baramulla district.

An official said the security forces, including Sopore Police and 22 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) have cordoned off the forest area where terrorists are reportedly hiding in a concealed hideout.

The official said the operation was going o while the additional reinforcement was deployed to seal the area.

The operation was like the operation reported on November 8 of 2024, in Panipora area of Sopore, where security forces neutralized two terrorists.

Meanwhile, the Kashmir zone Police said that a hideout was busted during a CASO launched by Police and security at Zaloora Sopore.

"During the same, fire was observed from inside.  Area cordoned off.  Further details shall follow," Kashmir Zone Police shared on its official X handle.
