Srinagar, July 25: Minister for health and medical education, Sakina Itoo Friday visited the SMHS hospital and took stock of the situation.
Her visit to the hospital comes days after the incident took place at the hospital involving assualt on a doctor by an attendant and heckling of some reportera by protesting doctors of the hospital.
Sakina Itoo said an inquiry has been ordered into the matter and assured that strict action will be taken against any doctor or staff member found involved.
Sakina itoo also said that some doctors left their duties after the incident, due to which patient care at the hospital was badlly hit.
"Action will be taken against such doctors as well," she said.
The minister said a formal order will soon be issued, making it mandatory for all doctors to wear aprons with a clearly visible 'Doctor' sticker for easy identification by the attendants of the patients.
