Baramulla administration holds Tiranga Rally with massive participation of students, citizens

Baramulla, Aug 11: A three-tier security arrangement has been put in place in north Kashmir's Baramulla district ahead of the Independence Day-2025 celebrations.
A top official informed that besides intensifying night patrolling, additional check points have been established at the various sensitive locations across the district.
"The security agencies have intensified foot patrolling while air surveillance is being monitored as well. Public crowded places are being continuously monitored as well," the top security official said.
Notably, the Independence Day functions will be held at around 147 venues across the Baramulla district while the main event will be held at Prof. Showkat ALi stadium Khoja Bagh Baramulla.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla, Gurinderpal Singh said that elaborate security arrangements were put in place to ensure smooth conduct of the Independence Day function on August 15, 2025.
"Around three to four Tiranga Rallies are held every day in the run up of the Independence Day but security measures are in place to ensure smooth conduct of these rallies at every place," he said.
He said the situation along Line of Control (LoC) was "normal" however, he said, security forces were ready to thwart any possible eventuality.
"We have ensured proper security arrangements at all 147 venues including sub division headquarters and schools, where Independence Day functions will be held on August 15," SSP Baramulla told reporters on the sidelines of the Tiranga Rally held in Baramulla town.
Briefing about the Tiranga Rally held in Baramulla from main town to Prof Showkat Ali Stadium, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla Minga Sherpa said around 12000 students from different schools besides senior citizens and people from different walks participated in Tiranga Rally held on Monday morning.
The participants were holding the 2.5 kilometres long National Flag while carrying out the Tiranga Rally.
"We are hopeful that momentum to organise such events in coming days will increase. Similar Tiranga Rallies are being held at Tehsil level and other places as well," Minga Sherpa told reporters here.
He said the district administration Baramulla has received a sufficient number of National Flags and they will ensure that Tricolour reaches every household ahead of the upcoming Independence Day function on August 15, 2025.
"I urge people to ensure massive participation in Independence Day function at Prof. Showkat Ali stadium on August 15," DC Baramulla said.
He further added that comprehensive security arrangements have been put in place by SSP Baramulla to ensure that Independence Day functions are held smoothly and in a safe environment.
"All the necessary arrangements have been put in place by SSP Baramulla including the deployment of security forces as per the requirement," DC Baramulla said.
