Several women injured as ceiling collapses during Ijtima in Pohru Langate

Handwara, Aug 24: Atleast 30 women sustained injuries on Sunday after the ceiling of the upper floor of a residential house collapsed in Pohru area of Langate.
According to officials, the incident occurred when a slab of the house, where a deeni ijtima (religious gathering) was being held, suddenly gave way.
Over two dozen of women attending the gathering were injured in the mishap.
Medical Superintendent Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara, Dr. Aijaz, confirmed that all the injured were brought to the hospital for treatment.
“All the injuries are minor and there is no need to panic,” he said.
