Baramulla, Sept 2: In
a significant development, a student of Army Goodwill School (AGS) Uri has
secured his position among the top 21 finalists at the 11th edition of Young Scientist
India held at Chennai.
A class 10th student, Muneeb
Mudasir who is a dedicated member of the Science and Innovation Club of the school
figured among the finalists with his project Autonomous Search and Rescue Drone with AI Assistance.
"His achievement is
remarkable given the fact that his project was only 50 percent completed, yet he
stood out for its creativity and innovation at the national platform," the
school handout reads.
The prestigious national-level
competition received 1200 applications from 22 states and out of which 175
students qualified for the national stage.
"Among these, 21
toppers were shortlisted, and finally 6 winners emerged in the competition
which include three each from private and government schools," the handout
reads.
It reads that in the Grand Finale young innovators showcased their ideas and competed at the highest level of scientific excellence.
"We express our
heartfelt gratitude to the Bharti Airtel Foundation for providing such a
prestigious platform for young innovators and for extending their valuable
support in terms of accommodation and travel facilities which enabling smooth
participation at the national level," the school handout reads.
