Convenes district level committee
meeting on NDPS cases

Baramulla, Sept 16: Deputy
Commissioner (DC) Baramulla Minga Sherpa Tuesday chaired a meeting of the
District Level Committee (DLC) to review cases registered under the Narcotic
Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
During the meeting,
officers from the concerned departments briefed the chair about the status of
NDPS cases in the district. DC emphasized strict implementation of the NDPS Act
to curb drug trafficking and substance abuse.
DC directed the concerned
officers to ensure timely disposal of cases in line with legal provisions and
stressed the need for close coordination among all enforcement agencies to
effectively tackle the menace of drugs.
On the occasion, Minga Sherpa announced that a brief session will be conducted next week with all Executive Magistrates on the NDPS Act to further strengthen awareness and enforcement at the grassroots level.
ASP Baramulla, DySP Sopore,
officers from Prosecution, and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
