Srinagar, Oct 4: The Jammu and Kashmir Employees Coordination Committee (JKECC) has expressed its heartfelt appreciation to the government for the recent enhancement of House Rent Allowance (HRA), terming the move as a progressive and welfare-oriented step that reflects the administration’s sensitivity towards the needs of its employees.
The association expressed gratitude to Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Principal Secretary Finance Department JKUT Santosh D Vaidya.
In a statement issued here, President JKECC and Chairman JKTA Shah Fayaz said the announcement has generated a wave of positivity among the employee fraternity across the Union Territory.
He remarked that the HRA revision was a long-pending demand of the employees, and its approval is being viewed as a major relief in the present economic scenario marked by rising living costs.
“Employee welfare has always been the foundation of a productive workforce. By addressing such genuine demands, the Government strengthens the morale of its employees, which in turn enhances their efficiency, dedication, and commitment to public service,” Shah Fayaz said.
While acknowledging the step, JKECC has strongly urged the Government to go a step further and grant immediate approval for the remaining 3 percent HRA enhancement.
The Committee recommended that this approval be announced as a Diwali gift for employees, which would not only ease their financial burden but also serve as a morale booster during the festive season.
Shah Fayaz emphasized that such timely measures create a sense of belongingness and motivate employees to perform their duties with greater zeal and responsibility. “The workforce is the backbone of governance and public delivery systems. When their genuine concerns are addressed proactively, it reflects positively in the overall service delivery to the people,” he added.
