Multi-tier security arrangement in place for R-Day 2025: IGP Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 21: Ahead of the Republic Day -2025 celebrations, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir range  Vidhi Kumar Birdi on Tuesday said that a multi-tier security arrangement was put in place to ensure the smooth movement of participants and the public for the function.

"All the arrangements have been finalised for the smooth conduct of the Republic Day celebrations on January 26," he told reporters here.

He further informed that the Sopore operation was launched based on specific intelligence inputs during which a hideout was busted by the security forces jointly.

"Terrorists hiding inside opened fire on security forces, resulting in the injury of one jawan who later succumbed to his injuries. The operation in the area has now been called off," IGP Kashmir said.
