Baramulla, Jan 21: Member, Panel of Community Leaders of National Commission for Minorities India Rouble Nagi on Tuesday visited
north Kashmir's Baramulla district and held interactions with several minority
groups.
Nagi held meetings with Kashmiri Pandits, Brahmins, Christians, and Sikh communities and listened to their issues and sufferings.
She assured the minority groups that all their genuine issues will be addressed besides efforts will be put in for their upliftment and their better future.
"It is truly rewarding to interact with minorities and listen to their concerns. Many of the issues they shared were related to their daily lives. There is a gap within the government setup that needs to be addressed. I assure them that all the efforts will be put in to address their issues," she said.
She said that various schemes are forthcoming for the people, but if these schemes are not availed properly then implementation of all such schemes will not bear any positive results.
"I will try my best to ensure that these schemes reach to every individual, especially the minority communities," she said.
Nagi said that in her 20 years of experience in working for minority groups, she actively engaged with Sikh community for the first time.
"I will not let them down in raising their issues and addressing their sufferings. This community has consistently stood strong in Kashmir despite challenging situations," she said.
She said as Indians, it was a collective responsibility of all citizens to work together, unify, and protect one another.
Nagi, an artist, author and social worker, is known through her art foundation for undertaking women empowerment projects in rural Kashmir through skill development and creating village entrepreneurs.
