Kupwara, Jan 21: Deputy
Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan, who is also District Election Officer
(DEO) on Monday convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the
arrangements for the celebration of National Voters Day (NVD) in the district.
During the meeting, a threadbare discussion was held to
review various arrangements for the smooth celebration of National Voters Day,
falling on 25th January. It was given out in the meeting that the main function
of NVD will be held at BHSS Kupwara.
On the occasion, the DC impressed upon the officers to work
with added dedication and close coordination to ensure vibrant celebration of
the event.
The Chief Education Officer was asked to conduct various
activities including Art and Essay competitions in Higher Secondary and High
Schools to mark the celebration of National Voters Day.
It was also given out in the meeting that the functions for
celebration of NVD shall also be held in Assembly Constituencies and Booth
level across the district. The Booth Level Officers were also directed to
conduct special Voter Registration drives for enrollment of new voters, besides
they shall also distribute EPIC cards among the newly registered voters.
SDM Lolab, ACR, Dy. DEO, CEO, ACP, ACD, CPO, Tehsildar
Handwara and other concerned were present in the meeting.
She later also, released various Statistical publications
pertaining to performance of various sectors in district Kupwara.
The publications which were prepared and presented by
District Statistics & Evaluation Office (DSEO) Kupwara include District Statistical
Handbook, District Profile, District Kupwara at Glance and Economic Review of
District Kupwara.
Meanwhile, the DDC said that data collection, its
compilation and presenting it in its analytical order is an important factor in
every field of development. The data so collected can be used for framing/
developing the area and bridging the critical gaps for the improved version of
the planning.
Further the publications will be helpful in the long run for
its users, research scholars and other agencies engaged in connection with development and framing of policy planning
matters at any stage for the betterment of the district.
The publications were released in presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, M Rouf Rehman; ACR Kupwara, Chief Planning Officer Kupwara, Dy. Director Statistics & Evaluation, AD Planning, and staff member of DSEO.
