War on drugs: Srinagar Police recover 290 bottles of Codeine Phosphate from Pantha Chowk residence

'No one to be spared, law will catch up with every offender'

Srinagar Jan 23: In a major success for the Jammu and Kashmir Police, 290 bottles of Codeine Phosphate have been recovered by the Srinagar Police during a search operation at a residential house in Pantha Chowk Srinagar.

The recovery seems to be a major success for the Jammu and Kashmir Police which have been working with a mission mode to curb the menace of drug abuse from the society.

As per the official handout, based on credible information, a search operation was conducted by the Pantha Chowk Police Station at the residence of Irfan Ahmad Ganie, son of Manzoor Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Athawajan.

"The search was carried out in the presence of the Tehsildar Pantha Chowk (a Gazetted Officer) which resulted in the recovery of 290 bottles of Codeine Phosphate" Police handout reads.

It reads that a case has been registered under FIR No. 05/2025 under Sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act, and further investigation was currently in progress as well.

"J&K Police remains committed to curbing drug trafficking and ensuring the safety and well-being of the community," the Police handout reads.
