Beti Bachao Beti Padhao: National Girl Child Day 2025 celebrated in Baramulla

Baramulla, Jan 24: The Social Welfare Department (SWD) on Friday organised an event to celebrate National Girl Child Day 2025 under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative.

The event was held at Dak Bungalow Baramulla in collaboration with the Information Department Baramulla.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Raina was the Chief Guest at the occasion.

In his address to the gathering Raina emphasized the critical role of educating and empowering the girl child in shaping a progressive society.

"Collective efforts are needed to break gender barriers and provide equal opportunities to girls in all aspects of life," Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Raina said.

Noted acadmician Prof. Tariq Ahmad Chalkoo, District Social Welfare Officer Sajad Ahmad, District Information Officer Iftakhar Naseem were also present at the occasion.

The guests in their address  highlighted the achievements of women in diverse fields and the need for their empowerment.

On the occasion, Pir Panjal Band Baramulla performed a cultural program.

During the proceedings of the event, ADC distributed nutritional kits, hygiene kits, baby kits, and sewing machines to beneficiaries.

Meritorious girls, women entrepreneurs, and achievers in sports were also felicitated for their outstanding contributions and achievements.
