With Technology on display, Dagger Division holds Know Your Army event in Baramulla

Baramulla, Jan 25: From Artillery guns to Fly past by Drones in action and from new generation vehicles and latest equipment at display, the Dagger Division of Indian Army on Saturday organised Know Your Army event at District Police Line (DPL) Baramulla.

As the Artillery guns and the hi-tech vehicles and the equipments were put in action, the venue reverberated with valour visible on the faces of the soldiers in action.

The event was organised in a bid to educate the youth about the Army and its prowess besides displaying the new technologies used by the Indian Army for its use.

As the soldiers put the armoured vehicles in action, the audience remained glued to their seats after witnessing the quick response of the soldiers, hinting towards their readiness for any situation to safeguard the country.

Meanwhile, a National Flag was erected on a military mast at a height of 35 meters.

Earlier, as many as 150 children made their entry at the venue with the 500 metre long National Flag to mark the commencement of the Army event. 

GOC, Dagger Division was the Chief Guest at the occasion who was accompanied by Commander Baramulla Brigade.

Officials from the district Administration, other security forces including BSF, CRPF, JKP and NCC cadets also attended the event.

Members from the civil society, Youth leaders, students also witnessed the soldiers in action at the event.

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the function, Shadaab from Old Town Baramulla said it was his first experience to witness such an event.

"The Sikh Gatka and performance by trained Army Dogs were amazing. I have never seen such an impressive array of weapons and vehicles," he said.

Former President Municipal Council Baramulla Touseef Raina who is also a youth leader said such events help the Army to engage with youth and dispel the myths related to public relations with the Army.

"This event has motivated quite a few to join the defence forces," Raina said.

During the proceedings of the event, Karate demonstration by Chinar YUVA Karate Kids, Army Martial Arts Routine “AMAR”, Dog Show by K9‘s of the Army, and Sikh Martial Art Gatka were also performed.

Stalls were also set up at the venue to showcase the Army equipment and Mobile Museum.
