SKUAST-K Celebrates 76th Republic Day with Enthusiasm

Srinagar Jan 26: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) on Sunday celebrated the 76th Republic Day with great fervour at its main campus.

The ceremony was led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai, who unfurled the national flag at the occasion.

The event saw the participation of a wide range of university officials, including Directors, Deans, Registrar,Heads of Divisions, Professors, and other staff members. 

In his address, Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai paid tribute to the visionaries and leaders who played a pivotal role in drafting India’s Constitution and shaping the nation’s democratic ideals.

He emphasized the importance of preserving the values of justice, equality, and freedom that the Constitution guarantees to all citizens.

Further, the Vice Chancellor outlined the university's future goals, emphasizing its commitment to making Jammu and Kashmir a model bio-economy state.

Prof. Ganai reiterated the university's role in fostering innovation and research to contribute to sustainable development in the region.

He also highlighted the pivotal role of SKUAST-K in shaping the future of agriculture and rural development in J&K, with a special focus on bio-based solutions that align with global sustainability goals.

Flag-hoisting ceremonies were conducted at all other campuses and research stations of SKUAST-K, with the collective participation of the university community.
