Over 6 lakh students, officers participate in 10180 functions across Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 26: As many as 10180 functions were organised across Kashmir to celebrate 76th Republic Day in schools besides the zonal and district offices of the School Education Department (SED).

The celebrations were held in Middle schools, High and Higher Secondary Schools besides the Zonal Education Offices and Chief Education Offices wherein 619005 students, officials, teachers, community members participated to celebrate the Republic Day.

The main function of the department was organised in the premises of Directorate of School Education Kashmir wherein the Director School Education Kashmir, Dr GN Itoo unfurled the National Flag.

On the occasion, the Director highlighted the role of every citizen in nation-building.

Dr Itoo congratulated and appreciated all the students and teachers for their overwhelming participation and to place special emphasis for promoting unity, integrity, and social harmony within the diverse cultural fabric of Jammu and Kashmir.

DSEK also appreciated the efforts made for the main event of Kashmir Division, which was celebrated in Bakshi Stadium Srinagar. The function witnessed colourful cultural programme and wonderful parade by students of different government and private schools was observed with the participation of more than 500 students.

Celebrations were also held across Kashmir with the unfurling of the National Flag at multiple locations, followed by the singing of the National Anthem, colourful cultural programmes with the participation of large number of students, teachers and community members.
