Drug peddler arrested, contraband substance recovered: Baramulla Police

Baramulla Jan 16: Police on Thursday have arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from his possession.

As per the official handout , a Police party of Police Station Uri headed by SHO Police Station Uri established a check point at Gingal Uri and intercepted one person identified as Saleem Khan son of Akhter Khan resident of Dawaran Uri.

"During his search, 1.208 Kgs of contraband Cannabis powder-like substances were recovered from his possession. He has been arrested," the police handout reads.

It reads a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Uri and investigation has been initiated.

"People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law," the handout reads.
