Baramulla, Dec 11: Saint Joseph’s School of Nursing Baramulla on Thursday marked a historic milestone with the grand celebration of the 150th Jubilee of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary (FMM), held alongside a vibrant Christmas programme on the school campus.
The event brought together sisters, faculty, students, distinguished guests, and well-wishers in an atmosphere of gratitude, joy, and unity.
The programme began with an uplifting Prayer Song, following which Sr. Vanita Principal St Joseph school of Nursing extended a warm and heartfelt welcome to all present.
In her address, she reflected on the remarkable legacy of the FMM congregation founded by Blessed Mary of the Passion and highlighted its global presence of nearly 5,500 sisters from 75 nationalities, serving across five continents in education, healthcare, social welfare, and missionary work.
MLA Kreeri-Wagoora Irfan Hafiz Lone was the chief guest at the occasion.
In her welcome remarks, Sr. Vanitha acknowledged his continued support to the institution and inspiring leadership.
Students of the institution presented a thoughtful Christmas Skit, capturing the message of compassion, sharing, and God’s love central to the spirit of Christmas.
The Chief Guest later addressed the gathering, commending the FMM sisters for their devoted service and appreciating the school’s ongoing contributions to society.
As part of the Jubilee observance, the Chief Guest presented tokens of appreciation to the students, marking the significance of the occasion.
This was followed by a melodious session of Carol Singing, performed by the students under the guidance of Ms. Anu, filling the hall with festive cheer.
The programme concluded with a sincere Vote of Thanks delivered by Sr. Sheeba, who expressed gratitude to God Almighty, the Chief Guest, the FMM sisters, organizing committee, staff, and students for their wholehearted contribution in making the event memorable.
She said that the celebration honoured 150 years of unwavering dedication, sacrifice, and missionary zeal of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary.
The event ended with refreshments, with special arrangements made for guests and students.
