CBSE, IIT Gandhinagar launch ‘3030 Eklavya’ to revolutionise STEM education

New Delhi, Jan 30: In a significant push towards innovative learning, the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has launched ‘3030 Eklavya’, an online STEM education program designed to simplify complex scientific and mathematical concepts through engaging hands-on activities.

STEM education is a teaching method that combines Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM).

It is designed to help students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity skills.

Developed in collaboration with IIT Gandhinagar, the program aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 which emphasises experiential learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. The initiative is led by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and aims to make science and mathematics more accessible and enjoyable for students, teachers, and parents.

The 10-episode series streamed live every Sunday at 4PM on YouTube, seeks to enhance creativity and social awareness while integrating fundamental scientific principles with everyday phenomena. The first episode which was aired on January 26, 2025 delved into the science behind soaps, bubbles, and optimization problems, covering topics like Surface Tension, Geometry (2D & 3D), Optics, Cell Structure, Motion, Algebra, and Snell’s Law.

By connecting real-life experiences with theoretical knowledge, the program is expected to bridge gaps in STEM education and encourage active learning.

The Ministry of Education has urged teachers, students, and parents to participate in 3030 Eklavya calling it a revolutionary approach to learning that brings science and mathematics to life.
