KU makes officer level reshuffle, assigns additional charges

Srinagar, Jan 30: The University of Kashmir (KU) on Thursday ordered officer level reshuffle in the main campus besides the satellite campuses while assigning additional charges to the officers.

The varsity has issued nine orders in connection with the reshuffle.

As per the order, Prof. Muhammad Farooq Mir has been relieved from the charge of Director in the Directorate of Admissions and Competitive Exams (DACE).

"At his own request, Prof. Muhammad Farooq Mir has been relieved from the charge of Director in the Directorate of Admissions and Competitive Exams (DACE)," reads an order issued by Assistant Registrar, administration.

As per the order, Prof Fayaz Ahmad from the Department of Zoology, "in addition to his own duties, shall function as DACE, till further orders."

Similarly, Prof. Showkat Ahmad has been relieved from the additional charge of Director Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) "on his personal request."

"Consequent upon this, Prof. Tariq Ahmad Chesti, in addition to his own duties, shall function as Director CDOE, till further orders," the order reads.

In a separate order, Prof. Amina Parveen has been asked function as Head, Department of Education with effect from February 1 of 2025.

Meanwhile, Dr. Irfana Rashid, Assistant Professor in Management studies south campus has been asked to function as nodal officer NewGen IEDC (incubation centre) in addition to her own duties, till further orders.

The move has relieved Dr. Parvaiz Ahmad Shah, Asscoiate Professor in department of commerce from the charge of Nodal Officer.

"The order shall have immediate effect," the order reads.

In a separate order, Prof. Tariq ahmad Chesti has been relieved from the additional charge of Director, Department of Physical Education "on his own request."

"Consequent upon this, Dr. Surjeet Singh, Assistant Professor, in addition to his own duties, shall function as coordinator in the Directorate of Physical Education and Sports till further orders," the order reads.

In a separate order, Prof Raies Ahmad has been relieved from the charge of Director, south campus "on his personal request."

"Prof. Waseem Barie of Department of Physics, in addition to his own duties, shall function as Director south campus till further orders," the order reads.

In another order, Prof. Fayaz Ahmad has been relieved form the charge of Director of Malviya Teachers Training Centre (MTTC) while Prof. Nazir Ahmad  Nazir of department of Commerce will function as Director MTTC "in addition to his own duties" till further orders.
