Baramulla, Feb 04: The locals in the Rafiabad area of Baramull district on Tuesday held a candle light march over the killing of an Ex-Army man during a militant attack at Beighbagh, Kulgam in south Kashmir.
The locals gathered to pay their respects and expressed solidarity with the fallen soldier's family.
The incident in Kulgam on February 3 of 2025 resulted in the tragic loss of the Ex- Army jawan's life.
The candle light march was organised in Sopore to showcase the community support for the armed forces and their commitment to peace and security in the region.
Meanwhile, the security agencies have launched a massive operation in Kulgam district following the targeted killing of a former Army soldier.
The security forces, including the Army, J&K Police, and CRPF, have intensified efforts to nab the attackers. The security forces were seen conducting door-to-door searches and questioning scores of locals in the village and adjoining areas.
An official said that dozens of people from the village and adjoining areas have been detained for questioning.
"We are investigating that the attackers might have received logistical support from local contacts," the official said.
He said the security agencies were investigating on multimate angles and are hopeful that the attackers will be tracked down soon," the official said.
