Srinagar, Feb 08: The 10+2 Lecturers Association on Saturday felicitated their colleagues-senior lecturers who were recently promoted as principals by the School Education Department.
The felicitation ceremony was organised at Government Girls' Higher Secondary School Kothi Bagh Srinagar.
Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Dr G N Itoo was the chief guest at the occasion who felicitated the senior lecturers promoted by the department as principals.
On the occasion the speakers highlighted the role of teachers in shaping the destiny of a nation.
The speakers highlighted the role of principals as teachers, guides, managers, administrators and mentors in institution building and shaping the personality of the students.
The speakers vowed to play all possible roles in bringing visible improvement in quality of education not only at school level but also at cluster level by optimum sharing of resources in accordance with the vision of NEP2020.
The president of the association besides highlighting the need for addressing the infrastructural and human resource gaps in the schools also requested the authorities to resolve the long pending issue of career progression.
He said the issue will address the stagnation at +2 level and other issues brought into the notice of authorities from time to time.
Dr G N Itoo in his address, highlighted the role of teachers in developing an efficient and productive society by shaping the future of students.
He also emphasized strengthening the school cluster system with optimum sharing of resources and building rapport with community people to promote community ownership and timely achievement of the set goals.
He also extended best wishes to all the newly elevated principals and stressed collaborative efforts in taking the school education to new standards.
