Pariksha Pe Charcha: PM Modi encourages students to overcome exam stress, focus on holistic growth

Srinagar Feb 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday engaged in a lively and insightful discussion with students during the eighth edition of 'Pariksha Pe Charcha' (PPC) at Sunder Nursery in New Delhi.

The annual event aimed at easing exam-related stress and promoting a balanced approach to learning saw enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and parents across the country.

During the interaction, PM Modi advised students not to perceive examinations as the ultimate test of life but rather as a part of their journey.

"Knowledge and exams are two different things. Your marks do not define you," he said.

PM Modi urged students to challenge themselves without succumbing to pressure.

"Parents should avoid using their children as models to showcase achievements and instead provide them with unwavering support," he said.

Drawing an analogy from cricket, Modi likened students to batters in a stadium who must remain focused on the next ball, undistracted by the noise of spectators.

"A batsman ignores the audience and distractions and only focuses on the ball. Similarly, students should focus on their goals and not external pressures," he said.

The Prime Minister also touched upon time management, urging students to use their time effectively and live in the moment.

He highlighted the importance of maintaining good health, stressing that nutrition, meditation, and sufficient sleep are crucial during exams.

"Absence of illness does not mean one is healthy. Sleep, nutrition, and a positive mindset play a vital role," he said.

He also encouraged students to spend time in the morning sun for better well-being.

In an informal setting, Modi interacted with around 35 students at the venue, making the session more engaging and free-flowing.

He also addressed leadership qualities, stating that actions matter more than words.

"A leader becomes a leader when he practices what he preaches," he said.

He further said that respect was earned through behavior, not demanded.

This year’s Pariksha Pe Charcha featured discussions on key themes such as "Master Your Time, Master Your Life",  "Live in the Moment," and "Nourish to Flourish."
