Sopore Police arrest drug peddler, recover contraband substances

Sopore, Feb 11: Sopore Police have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
As per the official handout issued here, a police party of Police Station Bomai headed by SHO Nissar Ahmad intercepted one suspected person during patrolling at Nathipora Tujjer Shareef road.
The team was supervised by SDPO Sopore Sarfaraz Bashir.
"During the search the Police Party was able to recover five grams of contraband Heroine-like substance from his possession," the handout reads.
It reads that on preliminary verification he disclosed his identity as Javaid Ahmad Wani son of Abdul Subhan Wani from Palihar Tujjer Shareef.
"In this connection, a case under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bomai and investigation has been initiated," the Police handout reads.
