PSAJK welcomes statement of education minister, says timely intervention safeguards future of class 10 students

Srinagar, 16 Feb: The Private Schools Association of Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK) has welcomed the "decisive and bold" action taken by the Education Minister Sakeena Itoo.

In a statement issued here, President G N Var said the late-night intervention to ensure justice for the class 10th students of Islamic Global School reflects the commitment of the government towards student welfare and the betterment of the education sector in Jammu and Kashmir.

"The timely decision taken by the minister has brought immense relief to students and parents who were in distress due to administrative roadblocks," G N Var said.

He said the move not only upholds the right to education but also demonstrates that the present government truly listens to the grievances of the people and acts promptly in their best interests.

PSAJK extended its deepest gratitude to the J&K Government, led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and his entire team, for their unwavering commitment to ensuring that students do not suffer due to bureaucratic inefficiencies.

"We commend their proactive governance, which has time and again proven to be responsive and student-centric," Var said.

The association also expressed its appreciation for the Srinagar Court’s intervention, which they said played a crucial role in protecting the academic rights of the students.

"This decision sets an important precedent for prioritizing education and addressing systemic challenges in the registration and approval processes for private schools," Var said.

Additionally, PSAJK urged that the education sector must function with efficiency and fairness to ensure that no student’s future is jeopardized due to procedural lapses.

"PSAJK will always remain committed to advocating for the rights of students, improving educational policies, and working closely with the government to build a transparent and efficient education system in Jammu and Kashmir," Var said.
