Feb 19: Minister for Education, Sakeena Itoo Wednesday emphasised on
improving the standard of education, ensuring accountability among teaching
staff and bridging gaps in digital learning resources.
While chairing a meeting at Civil Secretariat Srinagar to
review the performance and functioning of education departments in Baramulla
district, the education minister said that the department should focus on
improving standard of education beside bringing accountability among the staff.
During the meeting, the Minister underlined that Omar led
government was committed towards development of all areas, highlighting that
efficient service delivery is paramount for the government.
She directed the officers to maintain close coordination with
the MLAs and ensure they are taken into confidence for successful
implementation of projects and schemes in their respective constituencies.
The Minister called upon the officers to ensure that all
issues raised by the public representatives are addressed in a time bound
manner and ensure proper follow up of the issues flagged by the public
representatives.
During the meeting, the MLAs projected issues regarding education
departments of their respective constituencies.
The meeting was attended by MLA Uri Sajad Ahmad, MLA
Wagoora-Kreeri, Irfan Hafeez Lone, MLA Sopore Irshad Ahmad Kar, MLA Pattan Javaid
Riyaz Bedar, MLA Tangmarg Farooq Ahmad Shah, MLA Baramulla Javed Hassan Beigh, District
Development Commissioner Baramulla Minga Sherpa, Director School Education Kashmir, Director
Colleges and other officers of the education department.
