Baramulla, Feb 20: Ahead of the upcoming sports season in the Valley, the Hamdan Strikers Baramulla- a cricket club, on Thursday held its annual meeting to devise strategies with regard to the upcoming cricket tournaments.

The meeting was chaired by the President of the team Mansoor Ali Sherwani who briefed the players about the upcoming tournaments and their preparation to participate in the games.

Addressing the players, Mansoor Ali Sherwani asked the players to remain disciplined in and outside the field besides developing a sense of belonging towards the team.

"All the players should remain disciplined in all the tournaments and show sportsmanship in the matches. Everyone should focus on his positive sides, be it batting or bowling and try to improve the performance," he said.

During the meeting, the management designated Zubair Wani as the captain of the team for the upcoming sports season.

The meeting also deliberated on different issues which players come across during any match or the tournament and all the issues must be taken up with the management.

"This year, the management has decided to participate in the tournaments that will be organised outside district Baramulla. All the players should ensure their availability for their participation in the tournaments," Mansoor Ali Sherwani said in the meeting.

Besides the players and the captain, the meeting was attended by the coach of the team Yasir Shagoo and Manager Arshad Sadiq Bhat.
