DC Baramulla calls for identification of State land for future developmental projects

Stresses on-spot redressal of public grievances, hands over 2 newly procured water tankers to Jal Shakti division Baramulla

Baramulla, May 26: Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa on Monday chaired a meeting of revenue officers at the DC Office Complex.

The meeting was held in a step to streamline revenue administration and improve public service delivery.

A detailed PowerPoint presentation was presented during the meeting providing an overview and status of ongoing initiatives.

The meeting focused on key revenue matters including the disposal of court cases within stipulated timelines, inheritance attestation of mutations, land acquisition, and the pendency of vigilance cases.

During the meeting, the DC directed all Tehsildars to organize weekly revenue camps at the Tehsil level to ensure on-spot redressal of public grievances, particularly related to mutation and revenue records.

The DC stressed on the officers for the early completion of digitization of land records and called for the identification of government land to facilitate future developmental projects.

Furthermore, the DC instructed officers to closely monitor the implementation of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, and directed them to resolve pending landless beneficiary cases under the PMAY scheme if any pendency.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Syed Altaf Hussain Musvi, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Arshad Ahmad Khan, all Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars, and other concerned revenue officials.

Meanwhile, in a separate event, DC Baramulla handed over the keys of two newly procured water tanker vehicles to the Jal Shakti Department, Division Baramulla.


A brief flagging-off ceremony was held at the DC Office Complex in Baramulla, during which the two vehicles were officially inducted into the fleet of the Jal Shakti Department. Additional District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Joint Director Planning, Senior Engineer and Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Department,  and other officers were present during the flagging off ceremony. 

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the two water tankers, with capacities of 9,000 and 6,000 litres respectively, have been procured at a cost of Rs. 55 lakh. The procurement has been made possible through the award money received from NITI Aayog under the Aspirational District Programme.

The DC further said that these water tankers will greatly enhance the department’s capacity to address drinking water scarcity, particularly in areas where piped water supply under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) is yet to be commissioned. 

He emphasized that the vehicles will be deployed in efficient manner to ensure that every household in the affected areas gets access to safe and adequate drinking water..

“These tankers are a timely addition, especially with the onset of the summer months, when water demand typically rises. They will help bridge the gap in service delivery in remote and water-deficient pockets of the district," DC Baramulla said.
