Baramulla, May 27: The Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK) Dr G N Itoo on Tuesday called for strong managerial acumen, deep commitment to academic excellence among officers.

He said the officers must remain updated with departmental policies and administrative procedures for smooth functioning of zones, schools.

He said this while addressing the officers during an orientation programme organised for newly promoted Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs) and Headmasters, at Boys Higher Secondary School Baramulla.

DSEK, Dr. G N Itoo who was the Chief Guest on the occasion in his address further emphasised the evolving role of educational leaders in shaping effective institutions.

"Officers must have strong managerial acumen, transparency in governance, and a deep commitment to academic excellence. The officers must remain updated with departmental policies and administrative procedures to ensure smooth functioning of their respective zones and schools," he said.

Dr. Itoo further stressed the importance of coordination and teamwork in educational administration.

“You must all strive to be good managers. Coordination and collaboration are key for any head of institution—this is essential for achieving success,” he said.

He encouraged the newly promoted officers to lead by example and build a positive work culture that fosters accountability, innovation, and student-centric growth.

Various speakers also addressed the gathering, including the Joint Director Education North Kashmir, Chief Education Officer Baramulla, and Chief Accounts Officer, Directorate of School Education Kashmir.

The speakers shared insights on administrative protocols, financial procedures, and effective school governance, offering practical guidance to help the officers perform their roles efficiently.

The orientation programme focused on enhancing the administrative, financial, managerial, and supervisory capacities of the officers.
