Day-long awareness camp on PMFME scheme held at fruit Mandi Handwara

Kupwara, May 29: The Area Marketing Office, Department of Horticulture Planning and Marketing, Kupwara on Thursday organised a one-day awareness camp on the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme at Fruit Mandi Handwara.

The camp witnessed active participation from various stakeholders, including representatives from the departments of Horticulture, Fisheries, and Banking, who provided detailed insights into the benefits, objectives, and application process under the PMFME scheme. The experts emphasized the scheme's role in strengthening the unorganised food processing sector through financial assistance, training, and support infrastructure.

The event drew a large gathering comprising members of Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), Self Help Groups (SHGs), local farmers, existing food processing unit holders, and aspiring entrepreneurs from across Kupwara district.
